1988 Cigars is a manufacturer of handmade premium cigars from Nicaragua. Production takes place in Estelí, one of the most important growing regions for Nicaraguan tobacco. The company combines two brands: YT 1988 Cigars, founded by Yader Toval after 17 years of experience in the tobacco industry, and Don Dio Cigars, a family business of the Rodríguez family with its own plantation and factory. The product range includes hand-rolled cigars in formats such as 4x60 as well as sampler units with five cigars in Toro and Robusto formats for distributors. Production follows traditional craftsmanship: selection and fermentation of the tobacco leaves, hand rolling by experienced torcedores, and control of combustion consistency. Packaging with design rings and boxes is part of the brand concept. The products are distributed via distributors and humidor catalogues.
