A.I.R. Aeronautic Innovation Rühle & Co. GmbH develops, manufactures, services and distributes hang gliders, rigid-wing aircraft and other aircraft. The company was founded in 1983 and has been based in Halblech-Buching in the Allgäu region since 2012. Its best-known product is the rigid-wing hang glider Atos, built since 1998, of which around 4,000 units are supported through a worldwide dealer network; a dedicated FAI class exists for the Atos. The aircraft are handcrafted, with carbon used as a central material element, including the carbon keel structure, which provides greater flight stability. In addition to maintaining its own product models, the company offers technical developments in the field of aviation to third parties. The Atos program comprises the models Atos, Atos light, Atos VR and Atos VQ.
