About Chesterton
Founded in 1884 in Groveland, Massachusetts, the A.W. Chesterton Company is a provider of plant reliability solutions: mechanical shaft seals, pump packing and gaskets, lubricants and MRO chemicals, ARC polymer-composite-based industrial coatings, as well as the Chesterton Connect IIoT condition monitoring system for pumps and sealing systems. In addition to products, the company operates Service Centers for the repair and optimization of rotating, stationary and fluid power equipment and mechanical seals, as well as field services such as seal installation, protective coating of concrete and metal surfaces, reliability programs and training. In the engineering area, seal designs are developed using 3-D design, FEA and CFD, and reliability tests are carried out in accordance with ASTM, API and ISO standards (including API 622, API 624, API 682, ISO 15848, TaLuft). The company serves industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, water/wastewater, nuclear power, mining, shipping and hydropower. With more than 450 (branch) to 500 sales and service locations in 113 countries – including Chesterton International GmbH in Ismaning and a facility in Rödinghausen (Germany) – as well as 1,200 technically trained staff in the field and more than 250 authorized distributors, Chesterton derives its position from local technical support.
