About AB-CT
AB-CT – Advanced Breast-CT GmbH is a medical technology company based in Erlangen, which originated from the Institute of Medical Physics at the University of Erlangen (FAU). The company, with 50 employees, develops and manufactures the breast CT scanner nu:view – the first dedicated spiral breast CT with Photon-Counting technology. The detector uses directly converting Cadmium Telluride sensors (CdTe), which deliver up to 2,000 projection images per 360° rotation. A full spiral scan takes 7 to 12 seconds and is performed without breast compression at a dose level comparable to mammography. The field of measurement is Ø 200 mm x 160 mm with an isotropic voxel size of 0.15 mm³. The system is CE marked and is in use at university clinics and radiology departments in Europe; integration into RIS and PACS is planned.
