About Abatek
Abatek is a developer and manufacturer of human-machine interface (HMI) solutions and elastomer components, established since 1987. The portfolio includes silicone rubber keyboards, contact technologies (SC-Pills, Carbon Pills, ClickPad), capacitive solutions, thermal interface materials (thermal pads on acrylic or silicone basis, phase-change material, graphite foam), rubber molded parts such as seals and grommets, membrane switches and injection-molded plastic parts. Value creation takes place in the company's own production facilities with in-house toolmaking; manufacturing includes injection molding, co-molding, wet spray painting, powder coating, screen and pad printing and ink printing, laser marking and surface coatings such as SealPlast and PU/silicone coating, complemented by fully automated assembly and laboratory testing. Customers come from automotive, medical technology, telecommunications, consumer electronics, household appliances, aerospace, rail/bus transport and industrial electronics. The European headquarters is Abatek International AG in Bassersdorf near Zurich; production is located at Abatek (Asia) Public Company Limited in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate in Samutprakarn, Thailand; further locations include America as well as sales offices in China, India, Korea and Japan. More than 5,000 projects are realized annually.

Materials & Processes
Silicone (Silicone Rubber)
Base material for keyboards, contact pills, seals, thermal pads and conductive components.
Rubber
Material for rubber molded parts such as grommets, gaiters, seals and rubber parts.
Plastic
Injection-molded molded parts and housing/assembly components.
Acrylic (Acrylic Glass)
Acrylic thermal pads (ABA series, non-silicone based) as well as light pipes for lighting solutions.
Graphite Foam (ABG)
Highly conductive, flame-resistant graphite foam for thermally stressed applications with fire protection requirements.
Phase Change Material (ABP)
Softens at 50–55 °C, fills contact surface gaps and is solid at room temperature.
Carbon (Pill/Ink)
Contact material for high-ohm applications; pills are co-molded, ink is printed for free-form shapes.
Gold
Gold-plated contacts and metal domes for low contact resistances.
Nickel (gold-plated nickel wire mesh)
SC-W pill for applications with high currents up to 1000 mA at 14 V.
PU (Polyurethane Coating)
Standard protective coating for printed silicone surfaces against abrasion and chemicals.
SealPlast
Protective coating developed exclusively by Abatek with abrasion resistance >20 m at 2.5 N, antistatic, –40 to +80 °C.
