The Company
abe Industrietechnik GmbH is a medium-sized manufacturing company based in Thermalbad Wiesenbad OT Schönfeld in the Erzgebirge region of Saxony. The company develops and manufactures flexible current-carrying components, including lamellar strips with individual lamella thicknesses of 0.1 to 0.5 mm and lamella widths of 10 to 250 mm, current bridges, fabric strips, air- and water-cooled connection cables, and accessories for heavy-current and high-performance welding technology. The base material is copper, which can be coated on request, including silver-plating. The manufacturing processes include riveting, press welding, soldering/brazing, TIG/MAG welding, crimping, wire EDM, CNC milling, surface coating, as well as laser marking and engraving technology for part identification. Production is carried out according to customer drawings, including complex shapes and geometries; own cutting tools for copper processing are manufactured in-house. Customer industries include, among others, welding technology, switchgear construction, heavy-current engineering and the automotive industry. The company employs 20 staff and produces on 2400 m² of production and office space.

Materials and Processes
Copper
Base material of all lamellar strips and current strips, coated on request, e.g. silver-plated.
Riveting
Joining of the stacked individual lamellae with long service life and excellent flexibility.
Press welding
Joins the lamellae at the connection points, frequently used for switchgear and welding machines.
Soldering/brazing
Process for joining lamellar strips for flexible current transmission.
TIG/MAG welding
Welding processes in the manufacturing program for current-carrying components.
Wire EDM
Machining process for complex shapes and geometries.
Surface coating
Coating of the copper base material, including silver-plating according to customer requirements.
Laser marking and engraving technology
Part identification for durable marking of manufactured parts.
Crimping
Crimping of connections, among other things with the 200-t cable press.
CNC milling
Production of milled parts and complex geometries, also 5-axis since 2014.
