About Absolute Magnetics
Absolute Magnetics is a Swiss technology company based in Winterthur that develops magnetic rotary encoders (absolute encoders) for rotary position detection. The core products are customer-specific encoder solutions, the AM Integrate Series, and an Evaluation Kit for testing and accuracy measurements. The technology is based on a globally patented, multi-periodic magnetization pattern in which the magnet and electronics determine the absolute position as a two-component system without calibration. Thanks to a single measurement track instead of the usual two tracks based on the nonius principle, the encoders are insensitive to magnetic stray fields up to 40 mT, air gap fluctuations, eccentricity, and mounting inaccuracies. The systems achieve accuracies of up to ±0,075°, repeatability of up to 0.035°, rotational speeds of up to 30'000 rpm, and operating temperatures from −40 °C to +125 °C. Absolute Magnetics integrates the encoders directly into motors and drive applications for industries such as automation, robotics, automotive, metrology, energy technology, logistics, medical technology, and aerospace.

Quality & Performance
Without calibration, the accuracy is below 0.5°, and with optional factory calibration below 0.1°. Performance tests for stray field resistance (up to 40 mT), eccentricity, air gap variation, and ramp-up (0 to 7'000 rpm) are carried out in a test setup with a reference encoder.
