About Abwa-tec
Abwa-tec GmbH in Oberndorf (Bavaria) has been active for around two decades as a manufacturer of systems for the treatment and circulation of industrial process waters. The portfolio includes microfiltration systems, ultrafiltration systems, hollow-fiber module systems, the rotating ROTOMEM membrane filtration system, gravity separators, inclined belt filters as well as nano- and reverse-osmosis systems, including water treatment for hydrogen technology (softening, full demineralization with reverse osmosis and electrodeionization). The systems are offered as full service: from in-house process water analyses in the company's own laboratory, through technical specifications, process selection, design and in-house production, to commissioning, acceptance testing, operator training and service, maintenance and remote-maintenance contracts. The systems operate with ceramic and polymer membranes; medium-wetted parts of the inclined belt filters are made of stainless steel. Customers come from industries such as automotive, pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries, aerospace, energy and hydrogen technology, recycling, textile and surface treatment industries, as well as municipal drinking water treatment. System development and manufacturing are carried out in accordance with country-specific requirements and standards for worldwide use.

Processes and Materials
Ultrafiltration (cross-flow filtration)
Membrane separation technology with pore sizes of 0.05–1.0 µm and filtrate capacities of 0.1–100 m³/h, among other things for drinking water treatment.
ROTOMEM membrane filtration system
Rotating filter system for cleaning, degreasing and rinsing baths with up to 0.8 m³/h filtrate capacity at reduced pressure.
Hollow-fiber module systems
Capillary membrane modules made of polymer or polypropylene membranes for the complete removal of solids, 0.1–100 m³/h.
Gravity separator (SKA 50 / SKA PPT)
Physical separation of oil, grease and solids from process baths and coolant emulsions by gravity and coalescence, 0.5–20 m³/h.
Inclined belt filter
Filtration via self-sealing filter fleece with a cut-off of > 5 µm, medium-wetted parts made of stainless steel, up to 20 m³/h.
Nano- / reverse osmosis
Production of purified and ultrapure water with a cut-off of 1 nm, filtrate capacity 1–150 m³/h.
Water treatment for hydrogen technology
Softening, full demineralization with reverse osmosis and electrodeionization for the production of ultrapure water for electrolysis.
Ceramic membrane
Used in ultrafiltration systems, among other things for the separation of solids and oil from oily wastewater in automotive manufacturing.
