AC THRON Leistungselektronik GmbH was founded in 2005 in Monschau by Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Heinen, who previously worked for around ten years in the development and manufacture of frequency converters for inductive melting and heating systems. The company offers services and products in the field of power electronics, focusing on repair service and spare parts supply for converters of induction melting furnaces, bar and forging heating systems as well as motor and frequency converters, emergency power supplies and battery chargers. Its services include troubleshooting in the power section and control electronics, procurement and installation of spare parts such as thyristors, diodes and IGBTs, as well as the new development of components that are no longer available, such as control boards and firing amplifiers. In addition, AC THRON handles the development and construction of prototypes and small series as well as maintenance and inspection of induction systems from all manufacturers – from a few kilowatts up to the megawatt range. Particularly for older systems from defunct manufacturers, the company steps in as a substitute service provider.
