About AckerKapital
AckerKapital GmbH, based in Cologne, is a service provider for farm-based agri-photovoltaic systems with a ground area of up to 2.5 ha and an output of up to 1,000 kW. The company supports agricultural businesses throughout the entire project life cycle: from feasibility assessment and yield forecasting to consulting, technical planning and system design, through to building permit applications, procurement, installation, grid connection and commissioning. As an alternative to owning a system, AckerKapital also brokers land leases to investors. The business model is based on the privileging, in force since 7 July 2023, of farm-based Agri-PV up to 2.5 ha without a land-use planning procedure, as well as the feed-in tariff under the EEG. Customers are agricultural businesses in arable farming, grassland and livestock farming in north-west Germany; according to the company, more than 400 customers have been supported and over 120 MW of grid feed-in capacity secured. The company does not manufacture any components itself, but operates as a planner and project developer in the renewable energy sector.
