ACR Brändli + Vögeli AG is an internationally active developer and distributor for car audio, car media and connectivity headquartered in Bad Zurzach, Switzerland. Founded in 1975 in Zurich, the portfolio includes speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, vehicle-specific multimedia and navigation systems, reversing cameras as well as LTE/5G routers, sold under its own brands AXTON, EMPHASER, ETON, ZENEC, XZENT and CAMPERNET. Product development takes place at the Innovation Center in Bad Zurzach and at the ETON headquarter in Neu-Ulm, where concepts are taken to production readiness in modern design and test environments; many speaker systems are manufactured in Germany. Products are sold through more than 100 certified specialist dealers in the DACH and Benelux regions as well as through distributors in over 50 countries on 6 continents. Since November 2009, ACR has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 in the areas of engineering, import/export, logistics and sales & marketing.

ACR AG has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 since November 2009 in the areas of engineering, import/export, logistics and sales & marketing. Services include EU declarations of conformity, software and map updates as well as regular training of specialist dealers.

History

1. 1975

   Founding of ACR in Zurich by R. Wanner, J. Adolph and W. Vögeli with a 28 m² shop for home speaker kits.

2. 1979

   Opening of the first specialist store outside Switzerland in Munich.

3. 1980–1988

   Development of own speaker kits (Cello, Cembalo, Pan, Piccolo); exclusive distribution of the FOSTEX studio series; expansion of the dealer network.

4. 1987

   Relocation of the company from Zurich to Zurzach.

5. frühe 1990er

   Establishment of the own car hi-fi brand EMPHASER; distribution of the RODEK brand; AXTON increasingly positioned in the car hi-fi segment.

6. Ende der

   Discontinuation of the home hi-fi business, focus on car audio.

7. 2003

   Introduction of the own car media brand ZENEC.

8. 2007

   Addition of the XZENT brand to the portfolio.
