Family business since 1895
Adolf Schuch GmbH develops and manufactures technical luminaires of higher ingress protection in Worms: explosion-protected luminaires, damp-location luminaires, industrial hall luminaires, outdoor luminaires, emergency luminaires as well as light management systems. Founded in 1895, the fifth-generation family business serves industries such as industry, chemicals, oil and gas, food production, agriculture, rail transport and municipalities with around 320 employees. Its vertical integration covers development and design using CAD and thermal simulation, in-house toolmaking, mechanical production of housings and reflectors from sheet steel, aluminium and stainless steel on machining centres and with welding robots, an in-house polyester pressing plant for glass-fibre reinforced polyester housings, as well as final assembly and unit testing. Explosion-protected LED luminaires are produced using proprietary potting technology. In the VDE-recognised laboratory centre, luminaires are tested photometrically, electromagnetically and climatically.

Quality and certification
All luminaires are unit-tested; in the VDE-recognised laboratory centre photometric measurement (LMT Metrogon), EMC testing, IP ingress protection tests, impact tests, heat and wind load measurements are carried out. The quality management system has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1995 and additionally to DIN EN ISO/IEC 80079-34 for explosion-protected luminaires since 1999.
