About aµs microoptics

The advanced microoptic systems GmbH (aµs) was founded in 1995 in Saarbrücken and specializes in the design and manufacturing of refractive microlenses and microlens arrays. Manufacturing is carried out photolithographically using chemically isotropic etching, enabling a wide variety of optical component shapes as well as various packaging options for lenslet arrays with fill factors above 90 %. Positioning accuracy better than 0.2 µm and optical quality better than λ/10 ensure high effectiveness and repeatability. Materials processed include fused silica, optical glass, and plastics. The components serve collimation, focusing, homogenization, beam splitting, and imaging, among others in diode laser collimation, laser-fiber coupling, optical switching, and multiplexing. Applications are found in medical instruments, optosensors, telecommunications, laser optics, metrology, machine vision, optical computing, 3D imaging, and astronomy. With 25 experienced specialists, the company operates worldwide across Europe, North America, and the Pacific region.
