About AGC Glass Osterweddingen
AGC Glass Osterweddingen GmbH operates a fully integrated glass plant in Sülzetal (Osterweddingen district) in Saxony-Anhalt, with production and sales at the same location. The company specialises in the manufacture, coating and processing of flat glass. Using the float process, Clear Float and low-iron white glass (Clear Vision) are produced around the clock, 24/7, with a gross melting capacity of up to 780 t per day and glass thicknesses of 3 to 19 mm. On a magnetron coating line (MAG), temperable and non-temperable thermal-insulation and solar-control coatings (LowE) as well as anti-reflective coatings are produced with a capacity of up to 10 million m² per year. Laminated safety glass (VSG) is manufactured using the sheet-by-sheet process on two autoclaves, in addition to toughened safety glass (ESG). The products are used in architectural projects, in the solar industry and in the automotive industry. Since 2023 the plant has been fully integrated into the Japanese AGC Group.

Materials and Processes
Float glass (Clear Float)
Standard flat glass for architectural applications, solar and automotive, produced in the 24/7 float process.
Low-iron white glass (Clear Vision)
Low-iron white glass with high transparency, approx. 20% of melting capacity, among other things for solar applications.
Coating (magnetron)
Temperable and non-temperable thermal-insulation and solar-control coatings (LowE) as well as anti-reflective coatings, glass thicknesses 2–16 mm.
Laminated safety glass
Sheet-by-sheet lamination on two autoclaves, laminate thicknesses 4–24 mm, max. size 7 x 3.21 m.
Toughened safety glass
Tempered safety glass for architectural and technical applications.
