About AI4DI
AI4DI (Artificial Intelligence for Digitising Industry) was an EU-funded research project with the goal of bringing artificial intelligence from the cloud to the edge and advancing Europe in the field of Silicon-Born-AI. The project was coordinated by Infineon Technologies AG, headquartered in Neubiberg, and comprises around 20 demonstrators along the entire supply chain of the electronics industry. The developed reference solutions cover, among others, predictive maintenance with IIoT sensors (vibration, current, sound, temperature), optimization of inbound logistics and assembly processes via computer vision, machine learning for wafer inspection and fault classification in semiconductors, as well as AI assistants for FMEA analyses. Further demonstrators concern autonomous mobile robots, reconfigurable battery systems for second-life applications, intelligent sensor technology for woodworking machinery environments, quality control in champagne production, and AI-based fleet management for multimodal transport. The results are available as reference demonstrators for industrial deployment.
