About Akcelik
Akcelik Blankstahl & Service Center GmbH is the German subsidiary of the Turkish Akçelik Demir Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., one of the world's leading bright steel producers. The company calibrates hot-rolled bars and wire rod into cold-drawn, peeled (+SH), ground and descaled bright steel with precise dimensional tolerances down to h6. At the Schwerte plant, bright steel is produced by the peeling process between Ø25 mm and Ø190 mm; stock inventories include grades such as 11SMnPb30, 11SMn30, C45, S235JR, S355J2 and 42CrMoS4+QT. In addition, the group offers heat treatment, hard chrome-plated bars and liner mills as well as tool steels under the Schwert Tool Steel brand. Via steel service centers in Turkey, an automated logistics center in Gebze and a sales office in Houston, the group supplies customers from the automotive, mechanical engineering and steel processing industries worldwide. The Schwerte location coordinates activities for the European market with 32,000 m² of total area, 15,000 m² of covered production and storage space, 9,000 t of storage capacity and 24,000 t of production capacity.
