Alberdingk Boley is a medium-sized, owner-managed chemical company headquartered in Krefeld-Uerdingen that produces water-based polyurethane and polyacrylate dispersions, adhesive dispersions, polyols based on renewable raw materials (Albodur®) as well as linseed oil, castor oil and their derivatives. The products are used in paints and coatings, building protection, printing inks and packaging, coatings of all kinds, adhesives, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The company is the only producer of castor oil and boiled linseed oil in Europe. The value chain covers research and development, individual formulation development, production and technical marketing; more than a quarter of the roughly 500 employees worldwide work in R&D. Production takes place at the Krefeld sites (Plant Alberdingk, Plant Boley), Kerpen (Polytan plant) and Leuna, complemented by subsidiaries in the USA, China, Italy and the United Kingdom. The company supplies customers worldwide and focuses on bio-based raw materials.
