About Handtmann
The Handtmann Group, headquartered in Biberach an der Riß, was founded in 1873 as a brass foundry and is today a globally active family business in its fifth generation with around 4,700 employees and revenue of EUR 1.4 billion (2025). In its Light Metal Casting business division, Handtmann develops and manufactures precision components in aluminium die casting with over 2,300 employees – from standard die casting to mega casting with clamping forces of 840 to 6,100 tonnes. As a development partner, the company offers simulation, design and topology optimisation as well as additive prototype manufacturing; casting finishing and CNC machining are integrated into production. Further business divisions include system technology (drive and battery systems), plastics technology (injection moulding, semi-finished products, 3D printing), processing (machines and line solutions for the food industry) and plant engineering (fittings, valves and piping systems for the food, pharmaceutical and bio industries). Light metal casting production sites are located in Germany, Slovakia and China; customers include the automotive, rail vehicle and off-highway industries.
