About us
Allgäu-Brennerei Günther GmbH is a fourth-generation family business in Sulzberg in the Allgäu region. From its beginnings as a winery/cidery in Kempten in 1914, the company developed into a distillery producing more than 50 different spirits, including fine fruit brandies, liqueurs, whisky, gin and mulled wine. The centrepiece of production in Sulzberg is a copper still in which mashed fruit is gently and slowly distilled over five plates. The entire value chain—from distillation through filling, labelling and packaging to shipping—is handled entirely in-house. The company also operates a retail shop at its site, an online shop, wholesale sales, and the hand-crafted filling of miniatures. The miniature filling is handled by a dedicated team. Managing Director Stephan Günther is a certified master distiller and runs the business together with Barbara Günther and senior boss Kurt Günther. Since 2021 the company has been climate-neutral; waste heat recovery and photovoltaics have been part of its energy concept since the distillery opened in 2012.
