About the Alpe Obere Kalle

The Alpe Obere Kalle - Alpzeit is a managed alpine pasture at 1201 m in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park near Pfronten in the Allgäu, run by Christoph Frank. It offers hospitality with regional, seasonal cuisine (warm meals from 11 to 16), overnight stays with half board including breakfast and dinner, as well as events such as Wine Wine Baby (5-course menu with wines), fondue evenings in winter, mountain weddings, private functions and cattle drive events. The Alpe is a member of the Allgäuer Alpgenuss association and offers products of its own production or from regional producers. In summer from June to September, around 70 young cattle spend the alpine summer on the Alpe together with pigs, rabbits, chickens and calves; there is a playground for children. The Alpe can be reached on foot or by mountain bike in approx. 75 minutes from the Alpsee Bergwelt valley station; luggage transport by chairlift is available for a fee.
