About the Ensemble
Alphornensemble Weimar is a private hobby music ensemble from Weimar in Thuringia. It is dedicated to the alphorn, a wind instrument usually made of wood that is widespread mainly in the Alpine region. The ensemble carved four alphorns by hand from five-metre-long trunks of Thuringian spruce. Its repertoire goes beyond Swiss folk music and includes works by Bach, Handel and Rossini. In addition to the alphorns, the ensemble also plays other instruments such as the gemshorn and more. The contact address is Stephan Katte at Hermann-Abendroth-Straße 3 in Weimar. This is not an industrial or manufacturing company in the B2B sense.
