About Alpro
Alpro is a Belgian food company founded in 1980 and headquartered in Ghent that produces plant-based alternatives to dairy products. The product range includes drinks based on soy, oats, almonds, coconut, rice, cashews and hazelnuts as well as yoghurt, dessert and cream alternatives, cooking creams and bread spreads. Production takes place, among other methods, using the UHT process (ultra-high temperature treatment) at the company's own production sites in Wevelgem (Belgium), Issenheim (France) and Burton Latimer/Kettering (United Kingdom). The products are sold under the Alpro and Provamel (organic range) brands; for the German-speaking region, Danone Deutschland GmbH based in Frankfurt am Main is responsible. Alpro employs more than 1,200 people in Europe and supplies numerous European countries as well as Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Since 2017, the company has been part of the Danone Group.
