About ALR
ALR (Arbeitsgruppe für Luft- und Raumfahrt / Aerospace Project Development Group) is an independent association based in Zurich that brings together engineers, physicists and aviation specialists. Founded in 1981 and registered in the official Swiss Commercial Register, the association is not a manufacturing company but provides services in the field of advanced technology projects as well as consulting in aerospace and fluid mechanics – mainly in the form of contract research and development and consulting services for public authorities and industry. ALR is the developer of the widely used PC software Aircraft Performance Program APP™ for calculating point and mission performance, take-off and landing distances, and flight performance analyses for civil and military jet and propeller aircraft. Another focus is the Center of Competence in Aerospace History: since 1975, ALR has been building a library and database on civil and military aircraft, engines and technologies, which is used for studies, assessments and publications. Reference projects include, among others, the digital reconstruction of the FFA P-16 in collaboration with ETH, Leica Geosystems and the aviation museum airforcecenter.
