About the Alte Kantine

The Alte Kantine is an event venue on the grounds of the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg. It is operated by Lippold & Witzmann GbR, whose authorized partners are Uwe Lippold and Ingo Witzmann. The premises, with massive brick columns and vaulted arches, offer space for 100 to 450 visitors and are used for concerts, parties, theater, variety shows, readings, discussions, exhibitions as well as receptions and promotion or record release parties. Following a renovation in autumn 1999, permanently installed sound and lighting systems, modern restrooms and a ventilation system are available. A second hall offers space for around 50 people. Catering is handled via one bar per hall; there is no own kitchen. The venue hosts regular events and is available for rental only in exceptional cases.
