The Alte Ziegelei Polling is a gastronomy and event venue located on the site of a decommissioned brickworks at the Klostergut Polling estate in Bavaria. The operation comprises a restaurant, a bar with a steakhouse offering, and an event location for private and business events such as business lunches, birthdays, weddings, and Christmas or New Year's Eve parties. As part of the HK-Klassikwelt, trade and exhibition space, workshops and service businesses for classic cars of legendary premium brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Mercedes have been created on the site in historic buildings such as the Old Drying Hall and the Mixing House. The brickworks was fitted with a ring kiln in 1876 and is regarded as an industrial monument of its kind, of which only one other example exists in Germany.

History

1. 1876

   The brickworks was fitted with what was then a revolutionary ring kiln; an industrial monument of which only one other example exists in Germany in this form.

2. 1970

   Closure of the Alte Ziegelei.

3. 2013

   Hans Kleissl recognised the potential of the site and made it his mission to breathe new life into it.
