About Altendorf Maschinenbau

Altendorf Maschinenbau is a German manufacturer of sliding table and edging saws headquartered in Minden, Westphalia. The company was founded in 1906 by Wilhelm Altendorf in Berlin, where he developed the world's first sliding table and edging saw, on which all machines of the Altendorf system are still based today. Since 1956, the company has focused exclusively on the production and further development of sliding table saws, which are used in joineries, carpentry shops and businesses working with wood, metal and plastics. In addition to its main production facility in Minden, the company has operated a production facility in Qinhuangdao, China since 1995, as well as a production and sales site in Gaspar, Brazil, and sales and service locations in Bangalore and Sydney. More than 150,000 Altendorf sliding table saws are in use worldwide; over 2,400 machines are produced annually. The product portfolio includes the machine types F 45, WA 80 and WA 8, START 45 and WA 6. In 2017, Avedon Capital Partners, together with Jörg F. Mayer and Wolfgang Ruhnau, acquired the company shares; the Altendorf family withdrew from the company.
