About American Wines Factory AG

American Wines Factory AG was founded in 1998 by Karl Buzay after a year-long journey across the USA and has since specialized exclusively in wines from the USA. The company, based in Zug, operates as a general importer and exclusively represents 16 to 22 boutique wineries from 10 to 15 American Viticultural Areas in California, Washington State, and New York. The assortment includes around 100 items with about 25 different grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, Merlot from Columbia Valley, and Zinfandel from Paso Robles; approximately half of the wines have international ratings. In addition to importing and the online shop, the company offers warehouse tastings at its own warehouse, participation in wine fairs in Switzerland, and subscription models (Factory Club, Gold Club). Furthermore, founder Karl Buzay produces his own reed wines, whose grapes are dried on reed mats for 1–2 months after harvest and subsequently vinified.
