About AMO
AMO – Automatisierung Messtechnik Optik GmbH is a manufacturer of measuring systems for geometric quantities. Its focus lies in the development, production and distribution of length measuring instruments, angle measuring instruments and spindle encoders based on the patented, purely inductive AMOSIN® scanning principle. This combines the accuracy of optoelectronic methods with the robustness of magnetic metrology: a highly precise, photolithographically etched graduation on steel or stainless steel is scanned inductively. The products are available as absolute and incremental measuring instruments as well as ATEX variants for explosion-proof areas, as open contact-free or guided encapsulated systems, or in modular design without self-bearing. The measuring instruments are used mainly in machine tools, sheet-metal and metalworking systems, medical technology and printing presses, up to special systems for electronics and semiconductor production as well as in the automotive and aerospace industries. The AMO brand stands for flexibility in special measuring tasks and, as a globally active brand, is present in most industrialized countries. From 1 January 2026, production, development and all business activities will be relocated to RSF Elektronik GmbH in Tarsdorf.
