About Ampegon Power Electronics

Ampegon Power Electronics AG develops and manufactures high-power RF amplifiers, high-voltage and pulsed power supply systems as well as transmitters for scientific, medical, industrial and broadcasting applications. The public limited company, founded in 2019 in Switzerland, emerged from the acquisition of all strategic assets of Ampegon AG by the Italian industrial group Aretè Cocchi Technology and, together with OCEM Power Electronics, belongs to the CT group. The systems are used, among other things, in fusion facilities for plasma heating (ECRH, ECCD, NBI), in particle accelerators such as LINACs, synchrotrons and free-electron lasers, in medical proton and hadron therapy facilities, and in shortwave broadcasting and telecommunications infrastructure. Reference customers include Diamond Light Source, the Australian National University, the Wendelstein W7-X fusion experiment and the ITER Organization. The company supports customers throughout the entire project cycle – from engineering and factory acceptance testing through commissioning to service and system upgrades. Ampegon has been working with Fusion for Energy on high-voltage power supply systems for ITER since 2013 and is a member of the Alpha Alliance initiative of Proxima Fusion.
