Amphenol Precision Optics GmbH, based in Sinn-Fleisbach in Central Hesse, develops and manufactures highly precise connector technology for fiber optic systems, including fiber optic connectors, expanded beam lens connectors for harsh environments and multiple mating cycles, as well as custom special designs from planning through design to production. Since its founding in 1972, the company has specialized in mechanical precision parts and micro-manufacturing. The portfolio includes independent product development and manufacturing as well as custom contract manufacturing and prototype construction. In machining, turned parts with diameters of 1 to 40 mm and milled parts with tolerances down to 1 µm are produced. In addition, the company develops and sells its own polishing machines (APC 8010, SPM2) for polishing optical fibers as well as tools for fiber, wire and cable production. Customers come from medical technology, military technology, industry (polishing technology, wire coating industry), space research and information and communication technology.
