About us
André Voutta Grundwasserhydraulik is a sole proprietorship based in Herrenberg (Baden-Württemberg) specializing in geophysical logging services. The services offered include groundwater hydraulic measurements, groundwater sampling, groundwater monitoring, geophysical investigations in boreholes, well inspections and geothermal data acquisition including quality inspection and monitoring of ground-source heat probes (borehole heat exchangers) and heat probe fields. A key focus is the verification of the annular backfill of ground-source heat probes using a modified gamma-gamma density logging probe that can be run through U-tube probes with an inner diameter of more than 20 mm, as well as temperature profile measurements and short thermal response tests (K-TRT). To develop the measurement technology, a study on gamma-gamma density anomaly measurements at pilot scale was carried out on behalf of LUBW Baden-Württemberg. The evaluation and interpretation of measurement results as well as professional support of clients during the tests are part of the service concept. Customers include engineering consultancies, drilling companies, building services planners, architects and public authorities.

Measurement technology and methods
Gamma-gamma density measurement
Geophysical method for detecting density anomalies in the annulus of ground-source heat probes; the modified probe can be run from > 20 mm inner diameter.
Short thermal response test
Temperature profile measurement with heated water to test the thermal behaviour of the annular backfill.
Resting temperature measurement
Depth-referenced temperature profile for assessing the integrity of the backfill.
Groundwater hydraulic measurements
Measurements for the hydraulic characterization of the subsurface and of wells.

Quality
The logging probes are calibrated at a calibration rig that simulates a ground-source heat probe with various scenarios (continuous backfill, water- or air-filled annulus); the measurement results are recorded and documented with depth reference.
