Special packaging since 1955

Andreas Augsburg Spezialverpackungen is a family business founded in 1955 in Osterholz-Scharmbeck near Bremen, manufacturing custom special packaging and transport protection from Styrofoam® (EPS), PE foam and PUR foam. Using a proprietary mechanical process, blocks of rigid foam are converted into cut-to-size pieces, profiles, contour parts, hollow bodies and 3D molded parts without tooling costs; soft foams are processed into sheets, films and die-cut parts. The service portfolio includes packaging planning and development, waterjet cutting (material thicknesses up to 150 mm), die-cutting and series die-cutting, milling, cutting, welding and gluing, as well as assembly and contract packaging. Customers include tool and apparatus engineering, industry, electronics, medical and laboratory technology, as well as art, sales and construction. With around ten employees and over 2,000 m² of storage space, the company produces anything from one-off pieces and small series to series production, and archives all die-cutting and packaging molds for quick reorders.

Materials and processes

EPS

Styrofoam® (foamed polystyrene)

Rigid foam for cut-to-size pieces, profiles, contour parts, hollow bodies and filling material – processable in the in-house mechanical process without tooling costs.

PE

PE foam (polyethylene)

Shock-absorbing energy absorber with high dimensional stability, temperature-resistant from -40 °C to +70 °C, for packaging, die-cut parts and scratch-protection films.

PUR

PUR foam (polyurethane)

Foam with variable density that dynamically absorbs forces; for packaging of sensitive products and electronic containers.

WJS

Waterjet cutting

Material-sparing, heat-free precision cutting up to 150 mm material thickness with tolerances in the hundredth-millimeter range.

ST

Die-cutting and series die-cutting

Any cutting shapes from foam sheets using die-cutting tools; automated for large volumes and with archived existing molds.
