Antriebstechnik KATT Hessen GmbH (AKH) specializes in the development, design and manufacture of custom special motors in the power range from 1 kW to 1,000 kW; highly dynamic drive motors achieve speeds of up to 20,000 rpm. The portfolio includes slip-ring and squirrel-cage motors, special motors, rotating and lifting gear motors, as well as flat motors and, since 2017, high-speed synchronous machines for automotive test technology. At the headquarters in Homberg (Efze), the motors are engineered, designed and produced on an extensive machine park; highly stressed electrical machines, among others for test benches in the automotive industry, are developed at the development office in Dresden. An in-house test field with six load machines allows measurements in accordance with VDE standards as well as special measurements up to 1 MW. Since November 2014, AKH has been part of the Brazilian WEG Group; the motors are sold worldwide, including into woodworking, stone processing, cryogenics, crane technology and e-mobility test benches.
