About api Oberflächen Beschichtung GmbH
API Oberflächen Beschichtung GmbH was founded in 2017 by the brothers Philipp and Alexander Sessler, who come from the SESSLER Galvanotechnik family business – a traditional manufacturer of electroplating systems for the automotive industry and its suppliers. The company specialises in technical surface processes: pickling and passivation of stainless steel and aluminium, electropolishing, parts cleaning/degreasing (including ultrasonic) and sandblasting. The core product is the surface preparation of high-pressure rails for gasoline injection: api pickles and passivates around 3 million pieces per year, removes scale, exposes cracks beneath the surface for downstream penetration testing and increases corrosion resistance through passivation. A specially developed, ultrasonic-assisted rinsing technology reduces throughput times and unit costs by up to 30%. The plant is located in Philippsthal (Werra), the headquarters in Neuenbürg. With more than 3,000 sqm of indoor storage space, api buffers fluctuations in customer call-offs.

Quality & Certification
Quality inspection is carried out, among other things, by standardised salt spray tests in cooperation with the IFO – Institut für Oberflächentechnik (VDA specification, part of the initial sample inspection report) as well as penetration tests according to DIN EN ISO 3452-1. The company is certified according to ISO 9001:2015.
