About Apollo Automobil
Apollo Automobil GmbH is a German sports car manufacturer based in Denkendorf (Bavaria). The company was founded in 2004 by Roland Gumpert, the former director of Audi Sport, as GMG Sportwagenmanufaktur Altenburg GmbH. Under the name Gumpert, the Apollo super sports car was developed from October 2005 onwards and set a lap record on the Top Gear test track in 2008. After insolvency in 2013, the company was taken over in 2016 by a Hong Kong consortium (Ideal Team Venture) and renamed Apollo Automobil GmbH. Since then, models such as the Apollo Arrow, the Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE) – developed with HWA AG and featuring a carbon-fibre chassis weighing 105 kg – as well as the Apollo Project EVO presented in 2021 have been created. The company's purpose covers the development, production and distribution of motor vehicles, in particular sports cars, as well as related consulting and services. Customers are markets in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
