About Apparatebau Riess

Apparatebau J.R. Rieß GmbH is a traditional company founded in 1946, headquartered in Geesthacht on the Elbe, and has been in production since 1949. The company manufactures heated and unheated vessels as well as special apparatus up to a maximum diameter of 4000 mm from a single piece, and also machine components and oversized plant parts according to drawings. Production includes machining on vertical turret lathes up to D = 4000 mm, lathes up to D = 2500 mm and 7500 mm length, partly CNC-controlled boring mills up to 6000 mm length, and an encapsulated machining center. In its own roller forming shop, workpieces are cold formed between rotating rollers, e.g. dimensions ID = 700 × 40 × 3000 mm in material S355J2G3. Production is carried out in steel, iron and stainless steel for apparatus construction, vessel construction, mechanical engineering and stainless steel technology. The company trains construction metalworkers (construction technology) and machining mechanics and supplies customers nationally.
