About AQUILA Aviation
AQUILA Aviation International GmbH is a mid-sized aviation company headquartered at Schönhagen airfield near Trebbin in Brandenburg. The company's business purpose is the development and manufacture of the Aquila A211, a two-seat touring motor aircraft (Very Light Aircraft) for general aviation, as well as the operation of a CAMO+ (Continuing Airworthiness Management) organization. The airframe is manufactured entirely in composite construction: carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for highly stressed components such as spars, frames and stringers, while glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is used for shells and control surfaces, partly in GFRP/polyurethane sandwich construction. The aircraft are powered by Rotax 912 engines with MT propellers. In Germany, sales are handled directly, while abroad they are handled via distribution partners in France, Austria, Scandinavia, the USA, Australia, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Maintenance and repair of the aircraft is carried out by the sister company FSB Aircraft Maintenance GmbH; in addition, AQUILA offers maintenance training courses for type rating on the AT01. The company, founded in 1996, was acquired in 2016 by the Turkish automotive supplier BPlas (Bursa).
