About Aral
Aral Aktiengesellschaft is a German mineral oil and mobility company headquartered in Bochum. The company was founded in 1898 as Westdeutsche Benzol-Verkaufsvereinigung by 13 mining companies and was renamed Aral AG in 1962; since 2002, Aral has been part of the bp Group. With around 2,400 filling stations as well as 100 ADS and truck refuelling stations, Aral operates the largest national filling station network in Germany. Its offering includes fuels including the own brand Aral Ultimate, e-mobility under the charging network brand Aral pulse, car washes (Aral SuperWash), shop and bistro offerings (including REWE To Go, PetitBistro, wildbean cafe) as well as lubricants. In its business-to-business division, Aral supplies trade customers with fuels and heating oils through its own refinery in Germany and a nationwide tank farm network; an annual sales volume of around 7.5 billion litres makes Aral an established partner of the mineral oil trade. Through Aral Fleet Solutions, the company offers fuel and charging cards for vehicle fleets; in addition, Bochum is home to one of four research centres of the global bp Group.
