About ARG

ARG mbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Oberhausen, operates and maintains an approximately 495 km long ethylene pipeline in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The pipeline network runs from Antwerp via Cologne to the Ruhr region and forms the backbone of Central European ethylene chemistry; through participations and capacity takeovers, the Rotterdam market is also directly connected to the ARG system. The pipeline is accessible as a common carrier to all ethylene producers and consumers on equal transport terms; around 65% of transports are carried out for third parties. In addition to the participating companies, almost all major petrochemical companies in Europe are among the customers. ARG also manages two further petrochemical pipeline systems (PRG and EPS) in commercial and scheduling terms. The shareholders are BASF, INEOS, SABIC and Westgas (Evonik). The pipeline network is operated jointly with long-standing technical service providers (SYNEQT and Petrochemical Pipeline Services), and the safety-related functions are monitored around the clock.
