About Argomotive

Argomotive GmbH is a private-law research and development institute founded in 2010 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gennadi Zikoridse and headquartered in Dresden, originating from the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTW). As an independent engineering service provider, the institute combines scientific research with industry-oriented implementation. Its core competencies are the optimization of combustion engines with respect to emissions and efficiency, the development of exhaust aftertreatment systems (DPF, DeNOx/SCR, catalytic converters), RDE measurements in road traffic with mobile measurement technology (PEMS), and the evaluation and testing of alternative drivetrains such as electric and hybrid technologies and alternative fuels. Another field is battery thermal management, in particular the development and testing of immersion cooling with dielectric thermal fluids (E-Fluids). The range of services also includes FEM and CFD simulations, engine endurance tests, fuel and particle analyses, the development of measurement and diagnostic methods, prototype construction and the certification of exhaust aftertreatment systems according to the FAD test procedure. The institute handles publicly funded research projects as well as industrial contracts and, in cooperation with HTW Dresden, uses their test benches and laboratories or designs new test facilities. Customers come from the automotive industry, commercial vehicles, off-road/machinery and plant engineering as well as

Materials and Processes

E-Fluid

dielectric thermal fluids (E-Fluids)

Developed and tested for immersion cooling of traction batteries, as they are electrically non-conductive.

W/Glykol

Water-glycol

Conventionally used cooling medium for battery thermal management with high heat transfer, but electrical conductivity.
