About Artweger
Artweger is an Austrian family-owned company headquartered in Bad Ischl (Salzkammergut) and manufactures products for the shower space: shower enclosures, shower cabins, multifunctional and steam showers, shower bathtubs (TWINLINE, ARTLIFT), bathtubs, folding bath screens as well as acrylic and mineral cast shower trays and bathtubs. All shower enclosures and shower bathtubs are produced at the Bad Ischl plant; around every second unit is exported, with the main destination countries being Germany, Switzerland, the Benelux countries and France. Materials used include heat-treated single-pane safety glass (ESG per EN 12150), solid-color sanitary acrylic, cast mineral material (ARTSTONE), a glass-fiber-reinforced lightweight core (ARTNOVA) and polyurethane for tray reinforcement. Typical features are adhesive technology such as hinges bonded to the outer side of shower glass, the certified ARTFIX 2-component adhesive system for wall installation without drilling, and glass coatings (ARTCLEAR GLAS, ARTCLEAN). Founded in 1923, the company employs 150 staff and supplies sanitary ware retailers, plumbers as well as facilities such as hotels and hospitals.

Materials & Processes
Single-pane safety glass (EN 12150, heat-treated)
Becomes more resistant to impact, shock and temperature changes through heat treatment and is used as a structural element for shower enclosures.
Mineral cast
Mineral substances are cast as a homogeneous mass into a mold, yielding dimensionally stable, robust shower trays with a slate look.
Sanitary acrylic (solid-color)
Used for shower trays and bathtubs (ARTFLOOR), with a pore-free, UV-resistant surface and optional Artgrip anti-slip coating.
Polyurethane (PU channel)
Foamed onto the underside of acrylic trays, making the trays dimensionally stable.
Glass-fiber-reinforced lightweight core
Combines low weight with robustness for ultra-light shower trays with slate texture.
2-component adhesive system (3M VHB + hybrid adhesive)
Enables certified wall mounting of shower cabins without drilling, with immediate adhesion and a permanently elastic fixing.
Glass refinement ARTCLEAR GLAS (UV curing)
Permanently protects the glass surface against aging and glass corrosion and reduces cleaning effort.

Quality & Testing
At Artweger, materials, manufacturing processes and product functionality are tested: regular leak and impact tests as well as load endurance tests ensure quality. All shower enclosures are tested per DIN EN 14428 for stability, leak-tightness and durability; Artlift and Air-System are certified by TÜV SÜD, and the Body+Soul steam shower by TÜV AUSTRIA.
