About ASCA®
ASCA is a company of the HERING Group based in Kitzingen, Germany, and develops and produces organic photovoltaics (OPV) in the form of flexible solar films. The ASCA® film weighs less than 500 g/m², is flexible, semi-transparent and available in various colors; it can be curved or rolled up and generates energy under both sunlight and artificial light. Production takes place in a high-speed roll-to-roll process, in which several organic semiconductor layers are printed onto PET films and then encapsulated in a barrier film; a patented combination of laser, printing and lamination technology enables customized module designs. Production capacity is 500,000 m² of film per year. In 2026, ASCA industrialized, together with technology partner Raynergy Tek, an NFA-based photoactive material system that enables semi-transparent modules with up to 70 W/m² – around 40% more than the previous state of the art. The modules are used in architecture (BIPV facades, glass surfaces, roofs), mobility and smart products; ASCA offers prototype development, co-design and system integration into carrier materials such as glass, metal, textile, polycarbonate and plastic films.
