About ASCO

ASCO GmbH was founded in 1998 by Gerd Alfers in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and specializes in the development and manufacture of design-oriented tables. The portfolio includes dining tables, bar and counter tables, bar tables, bistro tables, side and coffee tables as well as stools and benches, all produced in the company's own Westphalian manufactory. The table tops are made as edge-glued solid wood panels consisting of 9 to 14 continuous, 8–15 cm wide wooden strips of oak, smoked oak, fired oak, heartwood ash, walnut and elm; natural stone (marble limestone), concrete, laminate, ceramic and powder-coated steel are also used. Surfaces are oiled, fired, brushed, stained or lacquered, with knot holes and drying cracks filled with polyester resin. Since 2019 there has been a close collaboration with the seating furniture manufacturer KFF from Lemgo, whose designs – including those by designer Nick Pyka – complement the range. Distribution is via a network of specialist retailers in Germany and abroad; since autumn 2020, ASCO and KFF have operated a joint showroom in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
