About ASM
ASM (Additive Surfaces) is a Munich-based company founded in 2021 in the field of post-processing for additive manufacturing of polymer parts. Its core product is the VX1 vapor smoothing system, introduced in 2024 and based on VaporFuse Surfacing technology (VFS): solvent vapor condenses on the part, softens the outermost material layer and closes the open, porous surface of powder-bed-printed parts into a smooth, sealed and washable surface with an injection-molding-like appearance. The VX1 processes PA12, PA11 and TPU parts from most powder-bed printing systems, including machines from HP, EOS, Formlabs and Sinterit, and with 24.6 liters offers the largest process chamber in its class. The compact plug-and-play system is designed for offices, laboratories and smaller production environments; a cycle takes 1.5 to 3 hours. In October 2024, ASM and DyeMansion entered into a global sales partnership; in October 2025 DyeMansion acquired ASM, and since then the VX1 has been the entry-level system in the DyeMansion Print-to-Product workflow. The system is in use at more than 50 customer sites in 15 countries on three continents.

Materials & Processes
PA12
Standard powder-bed printing material, smoothed with a dedicated solvent cartridge.
PA11
Softer polyamide for functional parts, processable with its own sealed cartridge.
TPU
Elastomer for flexible parts, smoothable via its own cartridge in the VX1 process.
VaporFuse Surfacing
Solvent vapor smooths and seals the roughened surface of powder-bed-printed parts in a 1.5 to 3 hour cycle time.
