Plastics engineering from Weitra

asma GmbH, based in Weitra (Lower Austria), is an Austrian specialist for polyurethane elastomers and plastics engineering. Founded in 1980, the company produces customised moulded parts made from cast PUR and foamed polyurethane, and since 2022 also injection-moulded components made from thermoplastic standard and high-performance plastics, glass-fibre-reinforced materials and UV-resistant compounds – from one-off pieces to large-scale series, from gel-like softness to tough hardness. The range of services includes technical application consulting, research and development with in-house PUR formulation development, 3D-CAD design and in-house tool and mould making, production, machining finishing, roller coating as well as assembly of modules and quality management. Around 150 employees produce wear-protection, conveying, damping and sealing components for mechanical and plant engineering, processing and recycling technology, the construction industry, converting, the woodworking industry, special-purpose vehicle construction, intralogistics, metal processing and agriculture. All key production steps – design, polyurethane casting, finishing and quality assurance – take place at the Weitra site; this is complemented by a branch in Poland, sales representatives in the Czech Republic and Germany, and industrial roller production with a licence partner in Slovakia.
