About Aspanger Bergbau und Mineralwerke
Aspanger Bergbau und Mineralwerke GmbH & Co KG operates open-pit mining as well as wet and dry processing of industrial minerals in Aspang (Lower Austria). It extracts muscovite mica, quartz and the traditional Aspang white clay (kaolin) from its own deposits, which according to the company hold muscovite reserves for over 100 years. Core products are the customer-specifically dry- or wet-milled quartz-free muscovite mica Aspanger MICA, the multi-component filler ASPOLIT made of muscovite and quartz, as well as quartz sands and gravel for concrete applications. Processing includes crushing, screening, hydrocycloning, customer-specific milling, drying and classification. The products are used in eight business segments: paints & coatings, plastics, adhesives, agriculture, construction chemicals, industrial niches, cosmetics and paper, as well as mould washes for the foundry industry. The company supplies international markets and has its own laboratory for quality testing.

Minerals & Processing Methods
Muscovite mica (MICA)
Quartz-free, dry-milled muscovite mica with high purity and platelet structure as a filler for paints, coatings, plastics and foundry mould washes.
ASPOLIT (muscovite mica and quartz)
Multi-component filler from the company's own deposit, customer-specifically fine-milled, also available as ASPOLIT W and unmilled (stockpile-moist or dried).
Quartz / quartz sand
Used mainly for concrete applications in numerous industries.
White clay (kaolin)
The traditional Aspang white clay, mined since 1856, is the basis of the product portfolio.
