About ASTELCO Systems

ASTELCO Systems GmbH was founded in 2004 and develops, manufactures and integrates professional telescopes, telescope control systems, domes (enclosures) and related technology, which are generally delivered as turn-key systems. The company, based in Sauerlach near Munich, employs more than 20 staff with many years of experience in astronomy and telescope control; the software developers bring over 20 years of experience in telescope control. All products are manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany): in the company's own assembly hall in Sauerlach, the systems are integrated, set up and tested. Customers include observatories and research facilities worldwide, including the Belgian TRAPPIST team, which in 2016 discovered five of the seven planets around the star TRAPPIST-1 using an ASTELCO 60 cm RC telescope in La Silla (Chile). ASTELCO realizes international projects, among others in Chile, Turkmenistan, Slovakia, France and Tenerife.
