About ASTRO Motors
ASTRO Motorengesellschaft mbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of small electric motors built to customer specification, based in Geestland (Debstedt) in northern Germany. Founded in 1983, the owner-managed family business is now in its second generation and produces synchronous motors, DC motors (with and without carbon brushes/BLDC), stepper motors, servo and actuator motors, as well as explosion-proof motors in ATEX versions and motors in stainless steel enclosures (hygienic design). Thanks to a modular construction, motors and gearboxes are created in millions of combinations – with quantities from 1 to 50,000 per year and no minimum order quantity. The product range is complemented by spur, planetary, flat and worm gearboxes, an in-house winding shop for custom motor voltages, electronic control systems (system supplier since 2009) and complete assemblies. All manufacturing takes place exclusively in Germany; deliveries are made to every continent except Antarctica. ASTRO is an official partner of Schneider Electric Automation for Berger Lahr synchronous motors (since 2017) and exclusive partner for Berger Lahr can-stack motors (since October 2025).
