About ATE

ATE is an engineering and manufacturing partner for custom electric drive solutions based in Leutkirch im Allgäu. The company develops and manufactures motor components such as stators and rotors as well as complete electric motors – including asynchronous, synchronous, torque, spindle and test bench motors – whenever speed, installation space, power density or installation situation exceed standard requirements. Manufacturing encompasses laser cutting of electrical steel sheet, (partially) automated winding processes, mechanical machining, vacuum potting and in-house toolmaking; materials processed include copper wire, electrical steel sheet and permanent magnetic materials. Production starts from a quantity of 1 up to series production, with around 50,000 motor elements and electric motors per year across five plants at the site. Customer industries include machine tool building, compressors and generators, test bench drives, e-mobility, refrigeration and air-conditioning technology, medical technology, aerospace and motorsport – for example, various drives of the victorious Porsche 919 Hybrid at Le Mans 2015 come from ATE. Customers worldwide are served via sales partners in China, Japan and South Korea.
