About Schmitt + Sohn Elevators
Aufzugswerke Schmitt + Sohn GmbH & Co. KG is a Nuremberg family business founded in 1861 that develops, manufactures and maintains elevator systems in its sixth generation. At the ISO 9001 certified production sites in Germany and Portugal, more than 1,400 new installations per year as well as elevator components such as cabins, doors and controllers are produced. The product range includes type-tested passenger, freight and bed elevators as well as escalators and moving walks for residential construction, retail, healthcare, culture, education, tourism, transport, administration and industry. The offering is complemented by elevator modernization (controllers, drives, cabins, doors), maintenance and repair with a 24-hour service hotline, as well as the manufacturer-independent real-time monitoring system NEXSD® with emergency call system and operational data evaluation. Through branches in Austria and the Czech Republic, the company offers comprehensive service coverage; according to its own figures, well over 80,000 elevator systems have been built in Europe.
